Close by you will find Lara Bay. Marine turtles are close to extinction with only around 500 nesting females left in the entire Mediterranean, the situation of the Green Turtle is especially dramatic. As adults female turtles return for nesting to the beaches where they hatched. As a result Lara Bay is a conservation area dedicated to the turtles. In season it is possible to watch the turtles come to the beach to lay their eggs, and you can volunteer to help at the Lara Beach Turtle Station.
