Larnaca is a great place to buy Cyprus property, a cosmopolitan working town of some 75,000 residents it is probably the oldest continuously inhabited town on the island. There is the attractive palm tree lined seafront promenade at Finikoudes, the famous silver workshops in the old Turkish quarter, there is a marina which attracts boats from all over the world and there are proposals for a new championship golf course in the nearby village of Tersefanou. . The main airport for the island is also located on the western edge of the town. A new terminal opens in September 2009 and will be able to handle 7.5 million passengers a year. There are an increasing number of budget airlines flying into the airport which take advantage for the prices of cheap flight only to Larnaca Cyprus.
